WUWHS2012 will be held from September 2 to 6, 2012,
following the 14th Annual Meeting of Japanese Society of Pressure Ulcers which will be held on September 1 and 2, 2012.

Pacifico Yokohama (Convention Center) is one of Japan's premier congress venues.
It meets every requirement of convention on an international scale. The National Convention Hall, Conference Center, Exhibition Hall and the hotel are integrated into a unique shape with a theme of “Waves, Wind and Sunlight”, which is a big symbol of Yokohama.

Passport and Visa
A valid passport is required to enter Japan. A visa may also be required for some foreign nations; please contact the Japanese Consulate or diplomatic mission in your country at least three months before your departure for Japan. For details, please check the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/index.html) or contact the Japanese Embassy in your country, as required steps to obtain visas vary from country to country. To request an official invitation letter and other documents to submit with visa applications, please contact the Secretariat. Prior registration to the Congress and payment of your registration fee are required.
Currency
Currency in Japan is the Yen (¥ / JPY.) Notes are available in denominations of 10,000, 5,000, 2,000 and 1,000 yen. Coins are minted in denominations of 500, 100, 50, 10, and 1 yen. Exchange at the airport is recommended for your convenience. Most foreign currencies and travelers' checks can be exchanged at banks and hotels where you stay. However we highly recommend purchasing travelers' checks or cash in Yen, U.S. dollars or Euros before leaving your home countries. A passport may be required for currency exchange services.Yen is only available currency for shopping, taxi and traffic fees. etc.
Bank
Banks are open from Monday to Friday, 9:00-15:00 (Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays). Automatic teller machines (ATMs) are commonly available throughout Japan, however, not all ATMs accept foreign debit or credit cards. We recommend that you check with your card company for applicable ATM locations in Tokyo. ATM withdrawal hours: 9:00 – 20:00 daily.
Credit Cards
American Express, Diners Club, Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted at hotels, department stores, shops and restaurants.
Climate and Clothing
The temperature in Yokohama in September typically ranges between 28-30 Celsius high during the day.
Electricity
Voltage in Japan is 100V and the frequency is 50Hz in Tokyo areas including Yokohama.. The socket is type A, which has two flat plug holes. If you plan to bring any electric appliances that are not convertible, transformers and/or plug adaptors are necessary.
Mobile Telephone
Mobile telephone rental is recommended, as most foreign cellular phones are not compatible with Japan’s network. Mobile phone rental shops are conveniently located at Narita, Haneda and other international airports. Please check with your mobile provider prior to your departure.
Insurance
The Organizing Committee can accept no responsibility for accidents or damage to the private property of participants. Please make your own arrangements for health insurance and any other necessary insurance.

Japan Standard time is 9 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.
